Welcome to District 622 Community Education

Community Education provides lifelong learning experiences for people of all ages, abilities and cultures through community-based programs and services. Programming is available for families, preschoolers, children, youth, adults, and senior citizens.  Opportunities range from enrichment classes to GED preparation to English Language Learner classes to parent education classes to community involvement and leadership.


The Community Education Learning for All catalog is published twice a year and is mailed to all District 622 households in late August and late December.  The catalog is also available at area libraries and communtiy centers.

 

 


Let's go to the "Hop"

Early Childhood & Family Programs Annual “Sock Hop” is a great family event for parents, grandparents, aunt, and uncles with young children from toddlers to school age.

Join us from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20 at Skyview Community School. Advance ticket prices for adults and children age one year and older are $4, or $5 at the door. Ticket price includes pizza, fruit & cookie, and a beverage.

Call the Early Childhood Office at Gladstone Center 651-748-7280 for information or to purchase tickets.

Youth Enrichment

Youth Enrichment will be offering a wide variety of programs for the Winter of 2009/10.  Music, technology, language, sports, arts, science, rock climbing, skiing and more are available for you to sign up!  Programs are open to grades K - 8 after school, before school, evenings, non-school days and Saturdays with classes being held at district schools and field trips to local community organizations.  Please go directly to our Youth Enrichment page!  Financial Assistance is available, please call 651-748-7445 or e-mail mdecker@isd622.org, for more information. 

Mini Grants Recipients Announced

The recipients of the $500 mini-grants for service-learning projects will be announced the week of January 25th.  E-mail Angelica Torralba-Olague with questions at atorralba-olague@isd622.org.  This is a project led by the Youth Leadership Council, a group of high school students from both Mahtomedi & 622.  To view the recipients and more information about the YLC is also available on our youth programs service-learning section.
