Swim Lessons

Our American Red Cross-trained instructors help develop water safety and swimming skills in a positive, fun, learning environment. Classes are offered in the evenings and on weekends during the school year and throughout the day in the summer. Begin in a parent/tot class and watch as your child progresses through the various swimming levels. All classes include age-appropriate basic water safety skills.

Parent/Child Swimming Lessons

For children 9 months to 5 years old
Children participate with the assistance of a parent or other adult in the water
Children not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper or tightly fitting rubber pants
Classes are 30 minutes

Parent/Tot Class

9 months to 2 ½ years old

Develop water readiness, safety and basic swim skills through games and play.

Parent/PreK Class

2-5 years old

Children learn basic swimming techniques through games and play.

Preschool Swimming Lessons

Children participate in the water without a parent/adult partner
Classes are 30 minutes
Classes emphasize water safety and basic introductory swimming concepts

Bobbers Class

Your child will increase his/her comfort level in the water and develop skills through games and play.

Super Kids Class

The child can swim 10 feet and is comfortable putting their face in the water.

Youth Swimming Lessons

For children 6 years and older
American Red Cross Learn to Swim Levels 1–6 give youth the opportunity to swim in a safe environment. Students learn to swim at their own pace and master skills as they progress through the 6 levels
Classes are 45 minutes

Level 1 & 2: Fundamental Skills

Introduction to water skills—floating, gliding, leg and arm movements.

Level 3: Stroke Development

Passed Level 2 or can swim on front and back for 30 feet. Class skills include Front Crawl, introduction to Elementary Backstroke and deep water.

Level 4: Stroke Improvement

Passed Level 3. Elementary Backstroke, Sidestroke, Butterfly kick.

Level 5 & 6: Stroke Refinement, Fitness & Safety

Passed Level 4. Develop techniques to improve fitness and endurance with additional emphasis on stroke refinement. Skills include Breaststroke, Butterfly, Sidestroke, survival float, self-rescue techniques, and survival swimming.

Private and Semi-Private Swimming Lessons for Children and Adults

Our instructor will customize a lesson to help each swimmer meet their individual goals.

We may require an adult to assist the swimmer in the water if the child is under 6 years old, and/or is not able to stand with their head above the water and/or does not have the skills to pass level 3.

Private lessons

30 minute one-to-one lessons. Private lessons are $24 per lesson and are scheduled in sets of seven or eight lessons.

Semi-private lessons

30-minute lessons for two or three swimmers. Swimmers must be registered together. It is beneficial if all swimmers are at the same skill level. Semi-private lessons are $16 per lesson per swimmer and are scheduled in sets of seven or eight lessons.
